Proclamation: Do Not Be Silenced...

"Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ."                         Acts 5:42

Born in a christian home, going to church 3-4 times a week and evangelizing every Saturday morning was common for me. It wasn't till I was around 12 years old when I started to question myself why we were doing this when people would sometimes slam the door on us, curse us and kick us out? I started to whine about going every Saturday because people would simply be rude to us.

Growing up made me realize that there are many way of evangelizing, that our daily life can be a form of evangelizing. That our attitude and actions was a form of evangelizing as well. That's when i realized i was evangelizing without even knowing. That's when it hit me and I felt ashamed because I could of done more.

More in terms of sharing the love of Christ. Yes, many people probably noticed I was different, but they never knew WHY I was different, and that't what I left for them in the limbo. As I was growing up I always said to myself I didn't want to become a "talker", I didn't want to blabber about Jesus and be telling the whole world about Him if i wasn't actually acting like a christian. I always wanted to demonstrate it with my actions. But what i DIDN'T do was talk after my actions being questioned. I stayed quiet.

What happened to all those visions I had in my heart about evangelizing with my actions? Many  of you are like me that want to spread the gospel but are to scared of talking or of talking too much. That was my problem. Because before we share the gospel we need to KNOW the gospel ourselves. What are we going to teach if we don't even know the scripture. We need to prepare ourselves first.

Now that I'm older I've learned that evangelizing is essential and that can be done anywhere, anytime. We simply need to be willing and have an open heart to do so. We need to spread the good news to people and let them know that He is the only way. But what if people reject us? That will frequently happen, people can be stubborn sometimes but we need to learn to love the lost. And evangelizing is not about proving others we know more, that we are wise about the bible and such. We need to learn to be humble. Let's have an encounter with the Lord. Speak up. Proclaim the love of God.
